What is your role at Medxcel?
As a Talent Acquisition Partner, I help lead recruiting efforts for a range of positions at Medxcel. I work with hiring managers, primarily leaders at our client sites, to help them fill staffing needs. That might include identifying candidates for promotion, hiring external candidates, or assisting with succession planning as people move toward retirement or other areas. The region I cover includes Wisconsin, Maryland, Alabama and Michigan, filling roles ranging from facilities technicians to directors.
Describe the path you took to arrive in your current role.
I began my career in finance, until a friend in HR suggested recruiting might be a good fit for me and shared the work she was doing. This led me to start working at a boutique staffing agency. When this position became available, I was excited to take the opportunity to join Medxcel.
Interestingly, I did some paraprofessional recruiting in college and was named “Most likely to become a recruiter,” but hadn’t considered it as a career path at the time. It’s been a smooth transition, and I’ve enjoyed it.
Can you speak to the training and development opportunities that Medxcel offers?
I’ve personally benefitted from training and development opportunities at Medxcel, which have helped me to grow into a more well-rounded professional. It’s something I highlight when I speak with candidates. Tuition reimbursement, self-guided courses, professional certifications, conferences, mentorship, there’s a lot of opportunity to grow.
When recruiting for a position, I always ask hiring managers about training and development plans for the position. Sometimes candidates get apprehensive when we talk about goals for the first 90 days or six months, but Medxcel isn’t going to throw you into the fire. Your leaders will work with you, train you, and develop you to ensure you’re successful. Often, that development can lead to promotions when associates are ready for the next step in their career.
What is the best part of your job?
The best part of my job is connecting people with the right opportunity. Being a connector is awesome, helping motivated people find the right opportunities for them, while ensuring the organization has the skill sets it needs.
How would you describe the culture at Medxcel?
The culture here is great, with a strong emphasis on professional development. We understand that company growth is tied to individual growth, so that’s a key part of our culture.
It’s also an honest culture, which I really appreciate. You often hear employers talking about values, but organizations don’t always practice those values. At Medxcel, we’re true to our mission and values, seeing them in action every day.
How does your work, or the work of your team, impact patient care?
Our work and the people we hire directly impact the communities we serve. Medxcel associates ensure healthcare facilities are safe, comfortable, and compliant with industry regulations. Beyond aesthetic improvements like landscaping and fresh paint, we create environments that are truly conducive to healing.
What would you say to someone who asks you if you'd recommend working at Medxcel?
There’s a lot of opportunity and room to grow at Medxcel. This is a place where you can grow your expertise and advance your career. Most people you’ll meet at Medxcel are eager to be valuable resources—whether through mentorship, pointing you to solutions, sharing knowledge, or offering guidance beyond your current experience level. That kind of support is invaluable for career growth.
